The Joy of Learning Programme began in November 2017, with the aim of strengthening the learning levels and life skills of students of classes 3, 4 & 5 in 10 government primary schools in Hathin block of Palwal District, Haryana. The programme is a joint initiative of Tarraqi I Foundation (TiF) and Shikshanjali Edutech Consulting, who have a MoU with the Department of Education, Government of Haryana. The programme supplements traditional classroom education with interactive and joyful learning using Arts & Crafts, Storytelling & Reading, Theatre, Games and Computers. The response from the community and parents was heartening and our mentors were able to mobilise over 500 admissions in these schools in just the first year. In only a few months there was a palpable improvement in the regularity of the students coming to the JoL centres.
