Community Mobilisation and Capacity Development
Community mobilisation is the first step in creating awareness and collective strength of the people we work with. In most of our projects, a significant amount of time and effort is devoted in mobilising the community and stakeholders as we firmly believe in a participatory approach for social and educational development. Whether it is through nukkad natak performances, cultural events, community meetings or door to door visits, the aim is to reach out to people, understanding their needs, forming a bond, spreading awareness about a cause, and their rights and entitlements. Once members of the local community start coming together and taking ownership of the cause, we focus on the enhancement of their capacities - be it their employability, educational development, infrastructural needs, rights-based collaboration and networking - through training sessions, workshops, exposure visits, etc.
