Education & Social Development Projects Implementation
TiF has extensive and in depth organizational experience and expertise in envisioning, planning and implementing education and social development projects. Several projects have been successfully implemented covering various stages starting from project visioning, planning, needs assessment and recruitment of project staff and teachers, conducting trainings and workshops for capacity building, financial management and regular monitoring and reporting of the project activities.
Tarraqi Project
A community centred effort being facilitated in Tonk, Rajasthan since 2013 to strengthen access and quality of education for children from most marginalised areas; to facilitate access to the welfare schemes and to do the capacity development of the community groups especially women to exert together so as to achieve their rights and entitlements. Tarraqi Project shaped TiF’s spirit and ethos in its early years. It embedded the understanding of the rights based approach in the community especially in women & youth of some of the most impoverished neighbourhoods of Tonk, Rajasthan.
Tarraqi gain Centre
Tarraqi Guidance and Information Network (GAIN) Centre project was launched in July 2015 with the aim to provide qualitative support to secondary school and college students especially from underprivileged families for excelling in their Boards exams and qualify competitive exams like IIT-JEE, NEET, CLAT etc. Tarraqi GAIN Centre (TGC) is a chain of tech enabled Coaching, Guidance, Information & Networking (GAIN) centres providing relevant and qualitative subject coaching; guidance and support to youth, students and graduates for higher education and career advancement. Two centres are functional at the moment in Tonk (Rajasthan) and Nuh (Haryana). Over 8000 students have benefitted since these started in 2015.
Joy of Learning
As implementing partners in this project with the Department of Education, Government of Haryana, TiF has set up Joy of Learning (JoL) centres in ten government schools of Palwal district impacting over a 1000 students of classes 3,4 & 5. Spread over 8 villages, with a team of 20 mentors (teachers), locally recruited youth who are given regular training the JoL project impact is widespread. It aims at improving learning outcomes and life skills of the students with activity based learning using art, teaching aids, library, sports, computers etc. Gaps in the areas of infrastructure, hygiene, sanitation and drinking water etc. are being filled by leveraging support from CSR funds.
Tonk Arts India Festival
TARIF is a platform that has been specifically created by TiF to foster the arts and crafts of Tonk, Rajasthan and strengthen heritage based entrepreneurship and employment. The project is event-based and involves the organisation of participatory cultural events where artists and entrepreneurs meet, exchange and showcase their work. Almost 100 Artists, Calligraphers and Craftsperson have benefitted so far.
Community Learning Centres and Mini Libraries
TiF believes that once a child ‘Learns to Read’ there is an immense ocean of learning to delve deep, thus ‘Reading to Learn’. A carefully selected collection of almost 300 books & learning games are given along with training in ‘Reading for Learning’ and Interactive Learning methods. 12 centers across UP, Delhi, Rajasthan and Haryana have so far been facilitated.
